He grew up with Crvena Zvezda (Yugoslavia) youth teams; was named the 1997/98 Yugoslav League Most Improved Player; was member of the U-22 National Team of Federal Republic of Yugoslavia; played at the 1997 U-22 World Championship in Australia; was selected in the 2000 NBA Draft by Minnesota Timberwolves (#51).
